Manuscript Submissions
Flint Publishing considers a limited number of submissions each year that align with our publishing focus and production schedule.
Please read the guidelines below carefully before submitting.
We approach publishing with one goal — success.
We are currently open to submissions in the following categories:
- Textbooks & professional nonfiction
(design, AI, business, applied technology, education) - Puzzle & activity books
- Women-led action or heroine-driven fiction
- Fantasy fiction
We do not accept poetry, children’s picture books, memoirs, or general literary fiction at this time.
By submitting materials to Flint Publishing, you confirm that:
- You are the owner of the work you are submitting.
- Your submission is made voluntarily and without expectation of compensation unless a separate written agreement is reached.
- Flint Publishing may already be reviewing or developing works with similar themes, topics, or approaches, and your submission does not create an obligation or exclusivity.
- Submission does not grant Flint Publishing any rights to your work unless a formal publishing agreement is executed.
Your manuscript must be entirely human written and not artifical intellignece content. Using AI for grammar and spelling check is permitted.
Our distributors are definitely opposed to AI written books and will reject them.
Review Process
∆ Response time is typically 8–12 weeks
∆ Due to volume, we are unable to provide individual feedback
∆ If you do not hear from us within that timeframe, please consider the submission declined
Important Notes
∆ Simultaneous submissions are acceptable
∆ Submission does not guarantee publication
∆ Flint Publishing does not charge authors submission, reading, or publication fees
∆ We do not accept AI-generated manuscripts
We accept unagented submissions only.

Before You Submit
Flint Publishing is a small press with a limited annual release schedule.
We consider only submissions that clearly align with our publishing focus and follow the guidelines below.
We review submissions in good faith and respect authors’ intellectual property.
What to Include
Submit one email with the following five (5) files attached as PDFs:
- Query letter (1 page)
- Pitch page
- Manuscript sample
- Author bio
- Marketing strategy
Do not send the full manuscript unless requested.
Rights & Representation
If a project is of interest, we will contact the author to request additional materials and discuss terms.
Submission does not constitute an offer or agreement of any kind.
Suggestions of information to include before submitting your manuscript.

Details of 5 submission items:
Query Letter:
A brief cover letter that explains why you are writing on this subject and any relevant information you think we need to know. No longer than one page. Should include: a brief description of the project, target audience, and comparable titles.
Pitch page
Sell your book concept to us in one paragraph. Think of it as the content on the back cover of your book.
Manuscript sample
A one-to-two page synopsis.
Sample chapters that should be in sequence.
Fiction: first 3 chapters or up to 50 pages
Nonfiction: introduction + 1–2 chapters
Author bio
Relevant background, publishing history (if any), and contact information.
Marketing plan
List the marketing you plan to do as part of the campaign. If you plan on the Flint Group to handle the marketing entirely, indicate that in your query letter.
